This coming Wednesday we are meeting at 7 p.m. in the Drewe Arms to plan our first Green Repair Cafe event. If you like fixing stuff from bikes, to toasters, to patching jeans, to mobile phones and wellies, in fact anything, please come along. We also need cake makers [it is a cafe], a social media whizz, and a treasurer.I attended a great repair cafe in Axminster Guildhall last Saturday to get some tips. Here are some pictures of a few things that got fixed: a toaster, some expensive hair straighteners, an ash vacuum [for cleaning out the fire], plus the crotch of two pairs of running shorts, no picture of these. Most of the tools used were quite common, but these unusual screwdriver bits in the yellow case always prove useful, see the last picture. For the first person that tells me their use I will buy a pint in the Drewe. So if you would like to help start our Green Repair Cafe in Broadhembury come along at 7pm this Wednesday 15th September. Tell your friends and family, all welcome.
