Broadhembury & District Gardening Club meets on the first Wednesday of every month at Broadhembury Memorial Hall. The club is a friendly group of enthusiastic amateur gardeners. At most meetings we will welcome a visiting speaker, but we value our shared expertise and often have an input from a member.
Meetings always include a raffle, a plant sale and a tea break and are always informal.
We held our annual, very light-hearted flower and vegetable show on August 2nd and crowned a new champion, Valerie Breakspear. Mandy Persey won best in show for her exquisite cut flower arrangement.
In March 2017 we welcomed the famous radio and TV gardener, Bob Flowerdew . An audience of 160 enjoyed a humorous and informative talk followed by a question and answer session.
Our programme has now been published . One highlight in May is a talk from Anne Swithinbank, another Gardener’s Question Time favourite!
Our next meeting will be on May 2nd and features Anne Swithinbank from Gardener’s Question Time. Her topic is Grow Something Different. Visitors very welcome. £5 admission.
On Saturday May 5th we will hold our Annual Plant Sale in the village square. The sale starts at 10am. Plant donations are very welcome. Plenty of parking at the Memorial Hall!
