All public authorities have ‘Standing Orders’. These set out how meetings are conducted, how decisions are made and how the views of members of the public can be heard. The Standing Orders for Broadhembury Parish Council were last amended fifteen years ago. In the meantime public interest in meetings has increased, leglislation has changed and more information is dealt with electronically. In addition the Parish Council now deals with more complex issues as more responsibility is devolved, and will need to act within a more complex legal framework on finalisation of the Neighbourhood Plan.
